This is Martha. She owns a wonderful lunchtime restaurant in St. Lucia. Her daughter waited on us (as her young grandson kept us entertained). Her daughter told us her mother had this restaurant in this location for 12 years and was famous for her barbecue sauce. We can see why. You can visit the website at marthastables.com.

Don't wait too long to visit though, as this wonderful local site is soon to become part of a home/resort complex going in!

My son brought me lunch as I was working on a big project from home.  So great to spend a few minutes outside in the warm sun!

Foggy Doggy Walk - Day 9

There is a wonderful little pond close to my office.  It was a misty, foggy morning...perfect for pictures over the pond.  I loaded my Nikon and tripod in the car.  Got there...and it was just as imagined....except my camera was on "ON" and battery was dead.  What  a rookie.

However, I grabbed my iPhone and got a picture.  Compromise......

There is NOTHING like travel.  New places regardless if they are thousand or just a few miles from your front door can lead you to so many wonderful new experiences.  Perhaps that is why I love seeing the world through my camera lens, it always seems like a new place.

My daughter is planning a trip to Europe this summer to France.  In looking at a very old globe in my office, couldn't help but focus on France tonight.  I know that the dreaming and planning are such a big part of the adventure.

PhotoPat - Day 5

I am like so many of the photographers I know....I just don't get in front of the camera, EVER.  I read a great article today about self portraits ( http://digital-photography-school.com/5-benefits-of-a-self-portrait-project ).  So, I figured that there was no time like the present to give it a try.  It was fun as I worked with a small iKea LED floor lamp as my only light.  Photos were taken with my iPhone.  Will try this again with my Nikon at a later date.

We have been unexpectedly fostering a two kittens the past few weeks.  The brother and sister are quite the duo.  Caught this shot from my home office this afternoon.  Brother was sleeping peacefully.  This was taken right before sister abruptly disturbed the slumber.

Flu Cat - Day 1

Well, I was hoping that my first post of the New Year in my new 365 Photo Blog would be interesting.  However, I have the flu and have been pretty much been in bed for the past three days.  

With that being said, with my iPhone, I captured this picture of my cat, Jenga, who has been my loyal and constant companion while I have been sick.  

Love this cat.  Hoping good health returns quickly with my camera in my hands.  Looking forward to this project.
